  • Parental guidance about general development, feeding, toileting, and sleep as well as behaviors that are normal but disruptive
  • Evidence-based management for colic, enuresis, and encopresis
  • Developmental surveillance and screening, and neurodevelopmental screening
  • Implementing use of standardized assessment tools
  • Interpreting diagnostic results to identify abnormalities
  • Making comprehensive developmental-behavioral diagnoses
  • Managing disorders of development: social and emotional, motor, neurologic, speech and language
  • Making appropriate referrals and coordinating multidisciplinary care for complex behavioral and developmental disorders
  • Providing family support by promotion of and referral to community and financial resources, and planning for care transitions to adult services as children age
