WHERE AND WHEN YOU TEST

On-site exams are delivered by computer at 300+ Prometric Testing Centers throughout the U.S. by appointment. Contact exam@pncb.org for more information.

Remote proctored exams are delivered by PSI.

PNCB assigns you a testing window in April, June, September, or November, depending on which application deadline you met. Schedule your appointment soon after you receive your window. Seats can fill up, and appointments are first-come, first-served.

On-Site Exams

Typical center testing hours are Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM and Saturdays 8 AM - 1 PM. Available times show when scheduling on Prometric's website. Exams may not be offered on major holidays.

Find a test center near you, even before you apply, including a map. Learn about the test center experience with a check-in slideshow or optional Prometric Test Drive. PNCB does not require biometric check-in.

1. Receive Approval & Scheduling Notification from PNCB

  • Watch for this important email from PNCB within 2 weeks of approval of your complete application. You are assigned an April, June, September, or November testing window, based on the date your application is received. You must schedule your exam to test within this timeframe.
  • Check your application status regularly. If you do not receive your emailed notification, check spam then log in to your portal for a copy under Message Report. Once you receive it, you are ready to make your exam appointment with Prometric.

2. Make Your Appointment

  • Have your calendar handy and visit Prometric's website to select a date and time, then schedule your exam. If you are requesting special accommodations, you must schedule by phone by calling Prometric at 1-800-967-1139. Don't delay. Waiting to schedule may impact availability of desired date.
  • Log in to PSI through the link included in your PNCB exam eligibility email. This link takes you directly to your profile information and scheduling portal.

3. Confirm You Have Acceptable ID

  • On-Site Exams: Don't forfeit your fees! To enter a Prometric Testing Center for your exam, you must present two forms of ID, one with a current photograph. All documentation must be in your legal name. You can opt to use 2 primary forms of identification instead of 1 primary and 1 secondary. Compare the forms of identification you plan to take to the test center with PNCB's ID requirements. Do you have the right ID? Has your name changed? Are ID dates expired?
  • Remote Proctored Exams: You must present one form of current ID. All documentation must be in your legal name. Review PNCB’s ID requirements.

On-Site Exams: You can make changes by logging in at Prometric's website or by phone with Prometric Candidate Services at 1-800-688-5804 during normal hours of operation.
