Pediatric Nursing Certification Board Names New Chief Executive Officer

Experienced Executive Leader in National Health Care Organizations to Guide PNCB

ROCKVILLE, MD (August 3, 2020) – The Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) has announced today that Sheri Sesay-Tuffour, PhD, CAE will become its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective September 14, 2020. Former CEO Margaret “Peg” Harrison, MSN, CPNP-PC, CAE retired in June 2020 after a planned leadership transition. PNCB’s Chief Operating Officer, Kathleen Hurley, serves as the Interim CEO.
  
Sesay-Tuffour comes to PNCB with more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, of which 15 were spent leading nursing, medical, and scientific-based organizations. She served as the CEO of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, the Executive Director for the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, and Vice-President of Operations for the Heart Rhythm Society. In addition, she has held several roles in education, international relations, and credentialing. 
  
A results-oriented leader, Sesay-Tuffour is known for her strategic foresight, operationalizing complex business portfolios, maximizing human and financial resources to strengthen services, and developing high performing teams. She is a champion for diversity and a passionate supporter for accessible and equitable care to support the well-being of women, individuals, and families.

Sesay-Tuffour received her PhD from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in organizational leadership. She holds the Certified Association Executive designation; is a lifetime inductee of Yale University's Edward Bouchet Graduate Honor Society; and has membership affiliations with several professional societies. Beyond her professional acumen, Sheri remains highly engaged in volunteer service and community affairs. She is a newly elected at-large board member of the American Society of Association Executives, remains actively involved in her local alma mater chapter, and served as a voluntary grant reviewer and evaluator of IRS-registered programs for the government of the District of Columbia's Mayor's Office. Sesay-Tuffour and her family live in Maryland.
