In Remembrance:

Sarah Gutknecht
August 29, 2017

PNCB is deeply saddened to announce the loss of one of our most inspiring volunteer leaders. Sarah M. Gutknecht, DNP, APRN, CPNP-AC/PC passed away late last week after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. With more than 15 years as a pediatric nurse practitioner, Sarah specialized in orthopedics and children with special needs. She also served as adjunct faculty and as a mentor to countless colleagues and new NPs. Sarah lit up the room with her personality, energy, and ideas. She has made a tremendous difference for certification, the pediatric nursing profession, and for the children and families she served. A participant in numerous medical mission trips, Sarah looked for new ways to share her nurse practitioner skills to benefit the underserved. PNCB is ever grateful to her service and leadership on our Board of Directors, Institute of Pediatric Nursing committee, and CPNP exam and Pediatric Updates committees. Thank you, Sarah, for your passion, expertise, and generosity of spirit. Our profession lost an amazing advocate last week. You will be greatly missed.
