*7.5 Contact Hours* Grow or validate your knowledge through book-based exploration of common developmental and behavioral concerns seen in primary care with the first of two modules in this arena. It is not required that you complete the companion module. Topics included:
- Parental guidance about general development, feeding, toileting, and sleep as well as behaviors that are normal but disruptive
- Evidence-based management for colic, enuresis, and encopresis
- Developmental surveillance and screening, and neurodevelopmental screening
- Implementing use of standardized assessment tools
- Interpreting diagnostic results to identify abnormalities
- Making comprehensive developmental-behavioral diagnoses
- Managing disorders of development: social and emotional, motor, neurologic, speech and language
- Making appropriate referrals and coordinating multidisciplinary care for complex behavioral and developmental disorders
- Providing family support by promotion of and referral to community and financial resources, and planning for care transitions to adult services as children age
