ROCKVILLE, MD (August 17, 2026)—The Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) is pleased to announce the election of Sheri Sesay-Tuffour, PhD, FASAE, CAE, ICE-CCP, IOM, as Chair of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Board of Directors. Dr. Sesay-Tuffour currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, bringing a distinguished record of leadership, innovation, and commitment to the association sector, along with a unique perspective as a leader in the professional certification industry.
New officers and directors for the ASAE and the ASAE Research Foundation Boards of Directors were elected during ASAE’s 2026 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Sesay-Tuffour is the Past Chair of the ASAE Research Foundation.
“Serving as ASAE Board Chair is an extraordinary opportunity to work alongside our Board and staff team to turn the strategic direction we have established together into meaningful action,” Sesay-Tuffour said. “I look forward to bringing our collective experience, energy, and commitment to the work ahead, and ensuring that ASAE continues to lead with purpose, agility, and impact.”
The ASAE and ASAE Research Foundation Boards were selected by ASAE’s Leadership Committee in May. The Leadership Committee develops a pool of candidates for board service based on several criteria, including how they best characterize ASAE’s strategy, represent their organizations’ membership, and enhance ASAE’s commitment to inclusive representation. Terms for the ASAE officers and directors will begin September 1, 2026.
The Pediatric Nursing Certification Board is the largest and most essential organization for the certification, continuing education, and competency development of nursing professionals who provide care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Established in 1975, PNCB currently certifies more than 57,000 nursing professionals holding one of four credentials: Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN), Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC), Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC), and Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist (PMHS).
