Based on the executive order issued 3/23/2020 by the Governor of Maryland, PNCB’s physical office is closed. Staff are working remotely to continue to serve candidates, certificants, and employers. Please use email addresses listed here to contact us, and thank you for understanding that there may be some delay in our response. All online systems including certificant portals and the CE / Pediatric Updates marketplace are still available 24/7. PNCB exams are essential workforce exams per Prometric. Please check back frequently for updates here.

PNCB is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Please see our update about PNCB services, testing centers, electronic transcripts, and more here

Step 1: Read your official documentation of exam eligibility email. For a copy of the email, log in to access the email in your Message History. This important email provides details on scheduling and taking your computer-based exam at a Prometric testing center.

Please review the details on this documentation and contact us at 1-888-641-2767 should you see any discrepancies.

Step 2: Schedule your exam within your assigned testing window (see your eligibility email notification) at a Prometric testing center near you. Visit Prometric's website to locate a testing center, including addresses and driving directions, and schedule your testing date and time. CPN and CPNP candidates have a 90-day testing window. PMHS candidates will have a testing window in May or November, depending on when you applied.

Step 3: Read your PNCB Exam Candidate Handbook and more. What can you bring into the testing area? What if I need to reschedule? Answers to these and other important questions about exam administration are offered in PDF format:

Step 4: Explore study resources. Find your exam's content outline, practice exams, exam tips, reference lists, and sample questions:

The Certified Pediatric Nurse Exam
The Primary Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Exam
The Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Exam
The Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist Certification Exam

We wish you much success on your upcoming exam!
