PNCB Awards
In addition to the 2 existing awards, PNCB is pleased to announce a new award with a focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Action, and that recognizes a pediatric-focused team that is making a difference for DEIB.
See criteria below. Self-nominations are accepted. Previous award recipients are not eligible.
You Belong Award: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Action
Apply here. This award recognizes a pediatric-focused team that is making a difference for DEIB. We want to hear how your team has implemented strategies to address barriers for nurses who identify with an ethnic or culturally diverse background, racial diversity, gender diversity, disability, or who are otherwise a member of a historically marginalized community within the pediatric specialty (e.g., LGBTQ+).
The team selected for the award receives $500 for a celebration, a plaque, and publicity.
Please have the following ready for the application:
- A letter (PDF or Word) that details evidence and accomplishments of your team's commitment to DEIB. Describe recruitment practices and/or support for employees who represent diverse backgrounds and capabilities. Please include dates and descriptions of activities. If outcomes are available, please include them.
- A short statement on your DEIB goals and work accomplished in the past 24 months (no more than 500 words).
- Team photo.
- The name and PNCB credential of at least 1 PNCB-certified nursing professional on your team.
PNCB/SPN Conference Scholarship
Each year, PNCB and the Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN) offer a joint scholarship to attend the SPN conference. SPN provides complimentary conference registration. PNCB provides a travel honorarium of $700.
- Must hold active PNCB certification and SPN membership.
- Applications open soon.

a. pediatric nursing clinical skills
b. family-centered care
c. promoting/implementing evidence-based practice
